Guidelines for Letters

Submissions of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, essays, and interviews are accepted September 1 through May 1. All submissions received postmarked during the reading period will be considered.

For poetry, please send only 5 poems, or ten pages. (Single spaced is accepted).
For fiction and non-fiction, limit to 8000 words. (Double spaced).
For all other submissions, limit to 5000 words. (Double spaced).

Although chosen submissions may be printed anonymously, we cannot accept any anonymous submissions.

Guidelines for Arts

Submissions of arts are accepted September 15 through April 10. All submissions received postmarked during the review period will be considered.

Submissions via USPS should be made to the Art Editor at the address listed above and must include a SASE.

All inquiries should be directed to info@theromereview.org and will be promptly answered.

Guidelines for Graphic Literature

Submissions of graphic literature are accepted September 15 through April 10. All submissions received postmarked during the review period will be considered.

All graphic submissions must be complete pieces, please only send three submissions, limit each to ten pages. (Color or black & white.)

The Rome Review is a bi-annual literary journal celebrating modern and contemporary arts and letters. It is operated by the George Washington University Society of Arts and Letters, a not-for-profit student organization registered with the university. The Review's editorial board and staff are composed entirely of George Washington University undergraduate and graduate students.
